Request: Infant Dedication
Our church believes that the Bible teaches baptism is for believers. In itself it contains no saving "power" but is a public statement of an inner faith in God. While some churches baptize infants, we feel it is more biblically appropriate to wait for baptism until the child has made a choice of faith to follow Jesus with their own life.
Therefore, we dedicate ourselves to raising a child in an environment that makes the growth and maturation of a child in the Lord the best possible.
Infant dedication at Bryan FBC is a statement by the child's parent(s) and extended family (when possible) that they, with the help of the body of believers at Bryan FBC will raise the infant in the ways of the Lord and set the best example of a Christ follower so the infant may have the best opportunity for making their own confession of faith when they are at the age of accountability.
